A Peek Inside CSG’s Culture: Employee Q&A

CSG India employees Sameer and Anitha value CSG for similar, but unique reasons. We interviewed each of them to gain some insights into what makes CSG a “Best Company To Work For” for them, individually.

Sameer Sarnad

Business Analyst Lead

3 years with CSG

Tell me about your role at CSG, then share some insights into what you like to do outside of work.

I work as a business analyst, but I wear multiple hats in the customer experience [CX] division across data and analytics. This month, I have completed three years with CSG. When I’m not working, I absolutely enjoy singing. I’ve been singing from the age of five. I sing all the Indian genres, so I can sing in at least five or six Indian languages, and very fluently in at least three.

How would you describe the environment and culture at CSG?

First, the way CSG cares for its employees is tremendous. I recommend CSG to a lot of people, especially women, who have responsibilities to manage a career and a household, which is common in India. Second—since I’m representing CX, I’m only talking about CX, but I’m sure it’s the same elsewhere, as well—all of the leaders within my organization, I’m really very thankful to them because they do a great job of figuring out everything at the top so that I can focus on creating value at my level.

What opportunities for professional growth and development have you been presented with during your time working at CSG?

My leader is always open to my growth, to an extent to where sometimes he even says, ‘If it is something that aligns with your thoughts, it need not always be within my team. Even if it is within another team, I am open. We can talk to them. They can borrow you, or, if you want to completely shift, we can make that happen, as well.’

So, there’s never been a hindrance to my professional growth.

In what ways does CSG foster a work-life balance?

Work-life balance has never been a problem. And we have monthly meetups in India, so we can go to office for in-person meetups here. We had the cricket league this month and we are in office every year for sponsored meetups—one India CX meetup where I get to meet another 40 or 45 people. And then there are regular volunteering activities that happen, and we have a virtual café every month. My manager always encourages us to go order something—a drink or food or anything—on that call.

Why does working at CSG matter to you, personally?

Joining a mission, to me, is very important. Understanding that mission is important. CSG’s CX products have a certain mission, both for the impact they want to have on the market, as well as where they want to be five years down the line. When I understand that mission, everything that I do on a daily basis, I align with it. That’s why mission is important to me.

What are some of the unique aspects of working at CSG that you appreciate the most?

What I truly admire is CSG genuinely puts in a lot of effort to make sure that it’s the best place for any employee to work. They constantly put in effort to say, Hey, we are trying to arrange a meetup. Do you want to come up? We are conducting a cricket league. Please join us. Hey, there is this volunteer program, there is this community. I really appreciate that somebody is honestly working towards creating this environment.

Anitha Srinivasaiah

Global Test Director

3 years with CSG

Tell us a little about yourself, your role at CSG, and what you like to do when you’re not working.

I am the global test director and have been working with CSG for the last 2.8 years. I am currently part of the global telco solution delivery team, which makes me responsible for test competency development and end-to-end test delivery services.

I also co-chair the India Regional DREAM Council, where I’m responsible for driving regional initiatives to support diversity, equity and inclusion.

Outside work, I love travelling to different places with my family and exploring new culture, tradition and food.

How would you describe the environment and culture at CSG?

CSG has a highly collaborative, transparent and progressive work culture, where addressing customer and employee development needs is the highest priority. There is continuous feedback and assessment on talent development, as well as plenty of opportunities for skill development and career advancement.

What opportunities for professional growth and development have you had during your time at CSG?

CSG has a very open culture for growth, learning and adaptability. I had the unique opportunity to expand my knowledge base both horizontally and vertically, which gave me all-round experience and developed me as a strong leader within the organization.

Having a flexible work policy has removed the boundaries of having fixed working hours. The adaptable policy provides the flexibility for employees in India to support global projects across time zones. This has allowed me to expand my role as a regional leader into a role as a global leader.

In what ways does CSG foster a work-life balance?

CSG’s flexible work policy is a huge advantage for employees who need to support their family with their physical presence. This ensures continuity of their work and allows them to also address their personal needs.

Additionally, the company facilitates several employee wellbeing programs and groups that focus on mental health and provide us with much-needed support. CSG monitors employee working hours and provides additional support to any employee who works consistently beyond the normal eight-hour workday. These employees are provided with the right support by the project team to ensure they’re not overstretched.

Why does working at CSG matter to you, personally?

CSG has positioned itself as a leader in product and strategic maturity by understanding the dynamic market needs and providing a one-stop solution. The innovative digital solutions keep us abreast of cutting-edge technology and domains. Above all, the “one CSG” culture keeps me motivated and inspired every day. Additionally, with the unlimited opportunities to learn and explore, I end each workday with a sense of accomplishment.

What are some of the unique aspects of working at CSG you appreciate the most?

CSG culture and values are unique, and every leader walks the talk in line with the leadership keystones. The vision, energy and shared beliefs that the leadership team carries are very contagious, which creates a highly positive work environment.
